Local and international guests visit STEINERT in Melbourne

The recent Ballarat Gold Symposium was a great forum to showcase the latest technologies for ore sensor sorting from STEINERT Australia...

Curtin University’s Gold Technology Group, part of the WA School of Mines, recently hosted the Ballarat Gold Symposium held 30 May-1 June. This was a great opportunity for gold producers, engineers, technologists and researchers to come together to discuss established and emerging technologies that will influence current and future ore processing. The event was sponsored by Gekko Systems, STEINERT Australia, allmineral, Outotec and Pionera.

Over 80 registered attendees participated in the symposium with a well-balanced technical program that featured strong participation from local and international mining companies, equipment and solution providers, reagent suppliers and research leaders. The symposium provided an interactive format that ensured good discussion and audience participation.

STEINERT hosted the Welcome Function to warm up the guests who were brave enough to venture outdoors to watch the ‘Blood on the Southern Cross’ show at Sovereign Hill in the wintery conditions of night-time Ballarat.

On the Friday following the Ballarat Gold Symposium, STEINERT went on to host an Open Day (in conjunction with Curtin University WA) at the Melbourne manufacturing facility in the suburb of Bayswater.  Showcased were the latest sensor sorting technologies and ore sorting demonstrations along with a range of sorted samples and various products.

There was a tour of the factory to highlight our magnetic separation solutions from the coil winding display through to the many types and sizes of Overhead Suspension Magnets in the STEINERT range including our latest STEINERT MP (Mains Power) magnets. Also on display were STEINERT Wet and Dry Drum Separators shown in various stages production here in Melbourne.

Guests were treated to an entertaining afternoon of ‘Q&A’ with the various STEINERT Mining team on hand, followed by a hearty BBQ and informative networking session late into the Friday afternoon.

On behalf of the STEINERT team we would like to thank all of our guests, both local and from overseas, involved in the STEINERT Open Day for making this a success. Also a big thank you to the team at Curtin University’s Gold Technology Group WA for the opportunity and support for this event.
